ARTIST STATEMENT
I create textural, fibre-based artworks that explore the intersection of craft, design, and everyday beauty. My practice draws on traditional techniques such as punch needle, embroidery, and weaving, often applied to unconventional surfaces like watercolour paper. I’m interested in the tactile, meditative qualities of handwork and the way slow, intentional making can serve as both resistance and refuge in a fast-paced world.
Rooted in curiosity and play, my work blends fine detail with bold form, combining graphic sensibility with the softness of thread. Each piece is a balance between structure and spontaneity—an invitation to pause, observe, and feel.
As I develop a product-based practice, I’m drawn to creating functional art objects that are approachable yet meaningful. Whether through wall pieces, small-format works, or fibre art kits, I aim to make creativity accessible, while honouring the traditions of handcraft that have shaped my journey.
